The Wedding of Shadir Al'Sharin and Iyanin Fayril
Iyanin blushes.
Iyanin says, "Shadir, all I have to give to you, today, is this ring. In sharing the last eighteen years with you, almost to the day, everything else I have has already been given. This ring is all I have left."
Iyanin looks at the band and turns it slowly between her thumb and forefinger. As the band turns, the light from the altar catches on its gems in brilliant sparks.
Iyanin says, "Its design is not even terribly unusual."
Iyanin smiles to herself, then shifts her gaze up from the ring to Shadir's eyes. She holds the wedding band up between them.
Iyanin says, "As this ring will endure, so does my love endure."
Iyanin says, "As this ring will always be with you, so is my faith and trust always with you."
Iyanin says, "As this ring will surround a small part of you, so does my love surround all of you."
Iyanin glances down at the ring and grins.
Iyanin says, "I initially wanted a band without gemstones. Then I gave it some thought and asked for this one." She tilts her hand and the ring glints in the light. She speaks softly, "See how the stones disrupt the smoothness of the ring? If you run your finger along it, you can feel it, too."
Iyanin raises her voice and smiles at Shadir. "So I - occasionally - disrupt the calmness that is so much a part of your manner. But the stones
are only on the surface, supported by something far stronger, something much
more substantial."
Iyanin smiles.
Iyanin says, "Shad, all I have for you today is a reminder. A simple ring to manifest simple promises made long ago. A simple ring to remind you that I love you, trust you, and support you, always."
Dorain beams brightly.
Shadir looks lovingly upon Iyanin.
Iyanin softly says to Shadir, "You better not lose it!"
Iyanin giggles.
Shadir chuckles.
Marliea wipes some tears from her eyes.
Mordrin smiles.
Tiella beams brightly.
Floriana laughs softly as tears roll down her face.
Marliea comforts Floriana.
Morrigan grins.
